Ablekuma North Municipal Chief Executive Inspects Ongoing Traffic Light and Road Improvement Works at Awoshie Mangoase Intersection.
The project forms a critical part of the Assembly’s broader urban mobility and road safety improvement initiative aimed at reducing congestion, improving traffic flow, and enhancing pedestrian safety along the busy corridor.
During the inspection, the MCE assessed the progress of signal pole installations, wiring conduits, and the integration of the traffic control system with existing road markings. Particular attention was also given to pedestrian crossing points and visibility for approaching motorists from all directions.
Although significant progress has been made, the inspection identified a few areas requiring urgent attention, including the calibration of signal timing for off-peak hours, proper backfilling around installed poles, and the installation of reflective bollards to improve nighttime visibility and safety.
Residents and commuters using the Awoshie–Mangoase route can expect improved traffic management, reduced travel time, and fewer junction conflicts upon completion and commissioning of the project.
The MCE commended the engineering team for their dedication and professionalism despite challenging traffic conditions and urged motorists and pedestrians to cooperate with temporary traffic signs and traffic management personnel during the final stages of the works.
