The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly, on National Sanitation Day, embarked on a massive cleanup exercise across the Been-To and Awoshie communities.
The exercise was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Adamu Musah Kalamu, together with the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn. They were joined by Assembly staff, community members, and volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clear clogged drains, sweep streets, and remove plastic waste.
The activity went beyond cleaning—it was a demonstration of communal responsibility and unity. Every sweep of the broom and every bag of waste collected symbolized the collective effort to create a healthier, cleaner, and more beautiful Ablekuma North.
Hon. Kalamu commended residents and volunteers for their commitment, stressing that maintaining a clean environment requires consistency beyond designated sanitation days.
“This is more than just a cleanup. It is a statement of our collective spirit and responsibility to safeguard our environment. Let’s all pledge to play our part—not just today, but every day—in keeping Ablekuma North clean and sustainable,” he stated.
