The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has embarked on a major refuse collection exercise along the streets of the municipality, following persistent reports of indiscriminate dumping of waste at unauthorized locations.
The Assembly notes with concern that the deliberate disposal of refuse on streets, roadsides, and other unauthorized areas has reached an unbearable and unacceptable level. This reckless practice by some individuals is not only an affront to public health but also undermines community development and the collective dignity of the municipality.
Despite the Assembly’s consistent public education campaigns and the provision of communal waste containers, a section of the populace continues to flout sanitation regulations with impunity.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Adamu Musah Kalamu, emphasized that the Assembly will no longer tolerate this gross misconduct. The Assembly is therefore cautioning all residents to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse and to use the designated waste collection points. Enforcement measures will be intensified, and offenders will be dealt with according to the sanitation laws of Ghana.
The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly remains committed to maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all residents and calls on the public to join hands in achieving this goal.
