The Ministry of local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs as part of the implementation of Component 3.3 ( Metropolitan Governance Operations and Maintenance) of the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development(GARID) Project, disbursed Operations and Maintenance grants in 2024 to the seventeen( 17) beneficiary Metropolitan and Municipal Assembly ( MMA) to carryout Approved activities in their approved FY2024 O&M Workplans.
In accordance with provisions in the Capacity Support Sub Grant Manual, the Ministry is required to conduct periodic monitoring to ascertain the level of utilization of the funds and implementation of activities in the approved FY2024 Workplans to ensure it alignment with the purpose of the O&M Grant.
On Tuesday 20th May, 2025, the team together with the Municipal Chief Executive of Ablekuma North Hon. Adamu Musah Kalamu and his entourage conducted spot checks of desilted sites to ascertain the current situation of the drains.
Areas visited includes drains at Nii Opeku Street, black lagoon street and T.D Brodie- Mends street located within the Sakaman Electoral Area.
The team made a stopover at the Kwashieman Anglican Church where a Mahogany tree was being felled by staff of the National Disaster Management Organization.
The team later visited the Nii Tetteh Quarshie Crescent-drain at the Odorkor Electoral Area.
