As part of his five-day working visit to the beneficiary Metropolitan, Municipal Assemblys (MMAs) under the Greater Accra Resilient Integrated Development Project (GARID), Hon. Dan Botwe the Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development together with a delegation from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development on Monday,12th June, 2023, visited the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly to assess the progress of work, including ongoing desilting works of drains which forms part of the project. He was met on his arrival by the Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, Municipal Development and Planning Officer, Municipal Environmental Health Officer, the Municipal Roads Engineer, the Municipal Works Engineer and many others. The focal person for GARID at the Assembly Hajia Mamata Musa Sherrif took the delegation through a presentation on the sensitisation on flood prevention, solid waste management and behavioural change in the flood hotspot areas within the Municipality. Hon. Dan Botwe later went on to inspect two storm drains at the Darkuman junction and Kwashiebu Electoral areas. He then charged the Assembly to speed up works on the storm drains to avoid flooding in those communities
