As part of preparations towards preventing floods and doing away with filth in the Ablekuma North Municipality and Greater Accra as a whole, some officials and sanitary laborers of Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly on Saturday 12th April, 2025, organized a clean-up exercise in some selected electoral areas such as Odorkor, Busia Junction, Darkuman West, Nyamekye, Darkuman East, Awoshie, Been to, Kwashibu, Kwashiman, Akweibu ,Tweneboa, Sakaman.
The clean-up exercise saw the sweeping of dirty areas,desilting of choked drains, and the collection of rubbish from key areas of the municipality. The team was lead by the Municipal Co-ordinating Director (M.C.E) Vera Akuffo-Mante (MRS) and the Municipal Environmental Health officer who were actively involved in the exercise. Also, those who’s services are directly involved,like traders,drivers ,shop owners, food vendors, fully participated in the exercise, Vera Akuffo Mante (MRS) commended the high level of participation and urged them to make it a routine practice since there were sanctions when caught in the act.
