The Accra Marathon (formerly Milo Marathon) is one of the most iconic sporting events in the Ghanaian Sporting Calendar. The event is organized every year by the Dansoman Keep Fit Club with the mission of promoting sports, fitness, community well-being, and active lifestyle for everyone and nurturing the communal spirit of togetherness.
This year's edition was held on November 11, 2023. Over 1,000 runners from across all 29 MMDAs participated in the 10km race for under 15 athletes for school children.
Forty (40) schoolchildren from Ablekuma North Municipal participated in the race. The race started at Korle-Bu Polyclinic and ended at Dansoman Keep Fit Club
Two students of Kwashieman 2 Basic and a past student of McCarthy Hill Basic Schools won medals in the Junior category of the 2023 First National Bank (FNB) Accra Marathon race
For their rewards, each athlete took home a GHC 500.00 cash prize, a medal, and souvenirs from the sponsors.
Several products from the sponsors were presented to the first 50 runners. 15 athletes from the Municipal were among the 50 runners.
The marathon was sponsored by the First National Bank. It was supported by Hollard Insurance, Bel Aqua, Yango, and Dano Milk with Graphic Communication Ltd and Multimedia Group being media partners.

The medals were presented to the Honorable Municipal Chief Executive on Tuesday 14th November,2023 at the Assembly Hall. On behalf of the Assembly, the Honorable Municipal Chief Executive congratulated the athletes on their sportsmanship and on lifting the flag of Ablekuma North High.
