The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has held a strategic meeting with the Ablekuma North Divisional Police Commander, District Commander, and the Municipal Crime Officer to discuss pressing sanitation concerns within the municipality.
The meeting, which took place at the Municipal Assembly Hall, forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in promoting cleanliness, environmental health, and law enforcement around sanitation by-laws.
Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Adamu Musah Kalamu, emphasized the need for collective responsibility in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He noted that poor sanitation remains a major challenge affecting public health and the overall image of the municipality.
The Divisional Police Commander and his team pledged their support in enforcing sanitation regulations and dealing decisively with individuals and entities that flout environmental laws.
Participants also explored joint action plans to curb indiscriminate dumping of refuse, open defecation, and other sanitation-related offenses. The meeting ended with a renewed commitment from both institutions to intensify public education, community monitoring, and enforcement to achieve a cleaner Ablekuma North.
