ABLEKUMA NORTH PUPILS PARADE FOR 67TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION.

Ghana’s 67th Independence Anniversary celebration was commemorated by pupils in the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly at the Kwashieman Cluster of school Park, Kwashieman.

                       The Independence Day which was themed “Our Democracy, Our Pride” was marked with a parade of seven (7) cadet corps drawn from the Wesley Grammer Senior High School and six other private and public schools held at the Kwashieman cluster of School Park.

                      Nine other public and private basic schools also took part in the march past with the Ablekuma North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Kofi Ofori, taking the salute.

                       The schools that participated in the parade were Kwashieman Anglican A & B, Darkuman 1, Odorkor Saleria 1 & 2, Odorkor Maclean, Ansarudeen Islamic, Milton International, McCarthy Basic, Prince of Peace and Great Super Lads.

                        The event was also graced by the Member of Parliament (M.P) for Ablekuma North, Hon. Sheila Bartels; the chief of Kwashieman, Nii Ahiaku Awuley, who chaired the ceremony, the clergy and some security personnels.                                                                                                                                      

                        In his address, the M.C.E for Ablekuma North, Hon Kofi Ofori reminded all and sundry of the sacrifices and struggles that have paved the way for the Nation’s Independence and the flourishing Democracy enjoyed today.

                     The students , in a message delivered at the Ablekuma  North Municipal Celebration of Ghana’s 67th Independence Day Anniversary on Wednesday , appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo- Addo to ensure a peaceful and violent-free election as he ends his tenure.

                     “We really appreciate your efforts since you took over and we hope and have the confidence in you that this year’s election will be a peaceful one,” the students said.

                     The message was read by Ronald Nii Quaye and Lillian Lamptey, both students from the Kwashieman 2 Basic School on behalf of all students in the Ablekuma North Municipality.

                    The students also appealed to the President to provide adequate places of convenience for the school, construct an astro turf , and fence the Kwashieman Cluster of Schools to enhance their security and safety.

                   They also appealed to authorities to provide them with a computer laboratory and a workshop for career technology in keeping with the new curriculum.
